The garden transforms an unloved space into a vibrant yet calming and restorative place.
At its heart is a central water feature surrounded by a living wall.
On either side, trees form a natural canopy of gentle shade. A tiled courtyard continues the symmetry theme with seating framed on either side, incorporating a sensory mix of herbal and perennial plants, along with an evergreen structure to create a year-round space.
The design is modular and practical, with raised beds forming the back of the seating, with the seating providing built-in storage. The design seamlessly brings together land, water, space, and life, resulting in a serene and bright courtyard that provides both seclusion and a sense of wholeness.

Relocation:
After 911±¬ÁÏ Chelsea, the garden will travel to Creative Start, an addiction recovery centre in Grimsby, to become the first green space in the heritage quarter of the Port of Grimsby. It will transform an industrial yard at the centre’s social space, the Black Gull, into a publicly accessible nature haven.
Partnering Elisabeth for the relocation is social enterprise Create Streets, an organisation that helps communities, landowners, councils, and developers create and steward beautiful, healthy and sustainable places. For the last 3 years, Create Streets has been working with the community of the East Marsh in Grimsby, where the garden will be sited. One of the most deprived wards in the UK and an area almost devoid of greenery, the Courtyard will contribute significantly to the ‘Greening Up the Marsh’ programme.
