Arrange: Rearrange Countryside Garden

This modern re-imagining of a country garden blends traditional and contemporary elements to great effect

Young Landscape Contractor & Planting Designer

Did you know...

  • Linear planting patterns echo traditional cottage vegetable gardens - but use flowers instead of vegetables, giving a delightful rhythm
  • Despite having some of the planting in rows, the overall feel of the garden is relaxed and slightly wild
  • A perspex screen containing pressed flowers and leaves creates an unsual but useful divider, making the garden feel larger than it really is

About the Garden

Arrange: Rearrange celebrates the cyclical lifecycle of plants. This countryside garden showcases plants as a crop to be harvested and explores creative means to extend our appreciation of them. With blurred edges, it welcomes native and local plants and as a productive garden, it trials the blend of the unusual and ornamental.

Compositions are in flux as the garden exhibits processes of growing, decomposing and reproducing,
while harvesting, cutting, drying, arranging and displaying take place, At the end of the show visitors will be able to take away bundles of cut flowers.
