Did you know...
- Green walls hug the garden, showing that vertical surfaces can be clothed in plants to create a lush and vibrant outdoor environment
- A hot tub, within a modern glass-fronted building, is in the heart of this fun and plant-filled space, helping whisk the occupants away from the stresses and demands of every day life
- Structural planting is key here: from the tall Rhus and Catalpa trees to shrubby foliage such as Fatsia and bamboos, backed up by bold flowers of orange and red
About the garden
The adventurous planting scheme in Jungle Fever has been designed to create a fun and engaging space inspired by a tropical jungle environment. The hard landscaping is practical, with a combination of Indian stone paving and tegula sett for the flooring materials, oak sleepers mimicking the uprights of trees, and laser-cut screens to create a stylish boundary.
At the heart of the space is a glass building with sliding panels, which houses a contemporary hot tub. Nearby is a bespoke fire pit, allowing the garden to be used when the evenings are cooler. The feature has a lid so it doubles up as a coffee table.
The planting features large specimens of fatsias and bamboos, and Rhus and Catalpa provide a statement. Bold reds, oranges and yellows contrast with blues, purples and vivid pinks.
