- After the show, the garden will be relocated to Autism Together, Wirral where it will be enjoyed as a therapeutic garden
About the garden
The idea for a garden in which to sleep and revitalise originates from the designer’s interest in current scientific research around the health benefits of both sleep and being outdoors in green spaces.Lifestyle medicine addresses the root causes of common health issues and focuses on four key areas – eat, sleep, move and relax. The Sleep Well garden, with its sumptuous bed, not only provides a place to sleep, but also a space in which to move and relax.
The design includes healing plants with scented leaves and flowers, including Santolina ‘cushions’ interspersed with airy planting. The inviting bed has a bespoke quilt made from Kaffe Fassett floral prints and designed by textile designer Janet Haigh, using colour combinations developed directly from the planting.
