The garden takes inspiration from summer holidays, with the use of natural stone for gravel tracks and large stone-bench seating, for resting amid the sound of water from running streams and the cool glade planting.
Stepping-stone paving over a shallow dry creek, designed to fill during periods of intense rainfall, leads to the central space with seating made from natural materials and shaded by multi-stem trees. The willow fence is inspired by the movement of water and echoes the same willow planted in the garden.
Rainwater is collected and filtered through the planting, creating cleaner waterways and reducing the need for additional watering. The planting has a natural feel that is aimed to handle future UK climates, such as temporary periods of flooding as well as dry periods. The planting palette is loosely inspired by woodland and lower valley glades with flowering perennials and grasses providing a mix of texture and colour.
After the show the garden is being relocated at ARK at Egwood in Somerset.
